Meet the Team

The ladies of the Dixie Dream Dancers are hand-picked by Amy for their commitment to dance, comprehension of technique and their stage presence.  All performers continue their dance training throughout the year while continuing their lives through work, family, community activities and school.

Meet Amy and the rest of the team...

AmyAmy
A true attention grabber, Amy was born to perform for an audience.  Her excitement is contagious as she shares her version of the amazing traditional dance known as clogging.  This energy is also carried over to her team members as Amy has a unique ability to motivate others to excel on stage.

AmyAmy is a graduate of Floyd Ward School of Dance and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Performing Arts at Steward University.  This award winning teacher, performer, choreographer, artistic director and more has followed her dreams and succeeded.

Ashley
Don't we all want to see a show with performers who are full of character, who are strong, sure of themselves and ready to "go" nonstop?  Ashley brings all of this to the team.  She is our rare treasure!
BrittanyBrittany
Brittany is a dancer who takes performing to a whole new level.  Those long legs of hers doesn't hurt either!  She has studied from Miss Amy for over 10 years. She has studied Clogging, Tap, Lyrical, Pointe and Jazz and has also taught many classes at Dancer’s Dreams over the years. Clogging has always been her favorite. After being gone for 2 years Brittany is very excited to be back with her dance family and share her love of clogging with them. This year is going to be fantastic.
Courtney
A newcomer to the team, Courtney is excited to get started.  She has been the one person on the team ready to give a helping hand.  Whenever the need arises, she's ready to help, taking time out of her schedule to make things better for the team in any way possible.  Her giving spirit helps to bring out the best in everyone.

Courtney has been with Amy's studio her whole life and considers her teammates family.  From modeling to dancing, she continues to find success in performing.
Crystal
CyrstalWe are in love with this lady's Appalachian charm and so will you.  She is a true country gal who loves all that this part of the world has to offer.  If she's not cooking, fishing, four-wheeling or riding a Harley, you'll find her dancing with her friends.
Crystal
If I were to describe my personality, I'm definitely a  "Down to Earth" person. I'm laid back and easy going.  I prefer to treat others the way I'd like to be treated.

I've been dancing for many years.  I started clogging at age 13 and it's been something that I love and have continued to do.  I would consider it one of my favorite hobbies and as another petite member of DDD, you'll find me dancing with the other "shorties" on the team.
Katie
KatieReady to give you her best, Katie has so much potential that she’ll continue to be an asset to this team for years to come.  Her smile is contagious and her happy heart shows through in every performance.  She truly wants to give her best at every show and you’ll want to be there to see it.

Call me one of "The Babies", but I like being the youngest on the team. It gives me a feeling that I can't describe. Also, I love being on the same team as my sister, Ashley. I don't think we look anything alike, but people say we could pass as twins!

One of my favorite sayings is "Practice Makes Perfect" which applies to being a dancer. We have to be dedicated to come to practices, and do it on our own time. So far, it's been a blast. I love all the girls on this team. And it's a true privilege to be accepted for DDD!

Since this is my first year on the team, I'm really looking forward to going to Bike Week! I hope you come to one of our shows! And I hope to see you there!
Kayla
Kayla may be our youngest instructor but demonstrates confidence in performing because of many years of experience.  She learned from an early age to take pride in her practicing and that is why she is an undeniable asset to the studio.  "I am a teenager in high school and am involved in cheerleading there.  I love to dance and have been doing so for 12 years, 11 of which were at Dancer's Dreams PAA.  I am involved in Tap, Lyrical, Pointe, Jazz and Clogging.  I am currently assisting with clogging  and instructing cheerleading.  Along with dance and cheer, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and talking on the phone :>)  ".
KimKim
She may be the most petite member of the team, but you won't miss this firecracker on stage. As a wise and respected member of the Dixie Dream Dancers, she encourages all of her fellow team members to take pride in what they do.

I've made the mountains of Virginia my permanent residence after working in the franchise restaurant scene for many years.  Even today I still find myself in that line of work surrounding myself with the crazy nightlife.

I am also a Cheerleading Instructor for Amy's studio.  I am loud and proud, and offer parents and my students the openness to help them excel.

My priority is my family.  Randall, Chris, Dylan and Kayla are the world to me.
Lesia
A lifelong resident of the community, Lesia enjoys the many benefits of a small town while still loving to see the country.

I consider myself the traveler of the group.  As a Conference Planner of a national association, I am on the road 5 - 7 times throughout the year.  I absolutely love being on the road because of the opportunity to see the sites.  Besides home, I love Northern California!  Coastline, mountains, grapevines... it's all there.

Dancing on the team has some fabulous benefits.  As one of Amy's Instructors, I enjoy making people happy while getting some much needed health benefits of activity.  I adore being with this family of dancers and our bond is apparent in our performances.  See you at the next show!

I hope you enjoy my new hobby designing websites.
Nichole
It's in her style and smile!  Nichole is a gorgeous lady with nothing less than pure talent.  This Babe is willing to be flexible because she has the confidence gained from many years of dance.  It makes her an undeniable asset.
ValValerie
I have always had a passion for dance and just love the thrill of performing for crowds.  I began my dance career long before Kindergarten taking tap and ballet before I found a new love of clogging at the age of 9!  I found Dancer's Dreams Performing Arts Academy in 1992 and continued there for several years before taking a break to go to college and start my Valfamily.

I found my way back to DDPAA this year while taking my twin 9
year old daughters to
Beginning clogging in hopes of them following their moms footsteps! I can tell you my heart never left clogging…just got busy for a bit but it sure does feel good to be back!
